Tybee Island is located between the eastern edges of Savannah and the Atlantic Ocean. Tybee which meant “salt” to the Native Americans’ is permanent resident to about 3,000 and also has a vacation/seasonal population. Tybee Island has approximately 3 miles of public access beach with shops and restaurants to please all of your beach day wants and needs. The homes on this island range from small beach “shacks” to fantastic island luxury homes rumored to be owned by certain celebrity elite. There is of course a light house to visit and plenty of on and off-season festivals for the very social at heart while still being just far enough away from Savannah to feel secluded and tucked away if you want to get away from it all and relax.
